The Prescott Sportsman's Committee Breakdown

Restoration, Conservation, and Education Committee

The Wildlife Restoration and Conservation Committee will focus on ways to support the restoration and/or conservation of wildlife and wildlife habitats in Western Wisconsin.  Examples of topics:  Tree Planting, Pheasant Release, Release of fish

  • 2008 Activities:
  •           Arbor Day Tree Plant
    • Children’s Photography Contest
    • Adopt a Highway

 

The Community Education Committee will focus on educational sporting programs for both adults and youth within the Prescott and surrounding area communities. 

Examples of topics:  Wild Game Call Clinic, How to catch Walleye/Bass on the two rivers, DNR clinics on natural resources.

    • Kickoff to Summer Participation
    • JOE’s (Junior Outdoor Enthusiasts) Club Startup
    • GPS Education

 

Marketing and Public Relations Committee  

The Marketing and Public Relations Committee will focus on the image of the organization within the community and recruitment of new members. 

Examples of Topics:  Newspaper Articles, Recruitment Events, Philanthropy, Club Merchandise, Newsletter, and website maintenance

Learn to Hunt Committee

The Learn to Hunt committee will focus on youth/novice adult hunting related activities.  This may include Planning the Youth Turkey Hunt.

    • Learn to Hunt Turkey Youth Hunt
    • Other Learn to Hunt Programs (Youth and Adult)

 

Archery Committee

TheArchery Committee's prime focus is the creation of a sportsman's archery range.. 

  • 2008 Activities:
    • Create an Archery Range for Club members

 

Picnic Committee

The picnic committee will create a members only yearly picnic at no cost to the members.

  • 2008 Activities:
    • Sportsman’s Club Picnic

 

Meeting Committee

The Meeting committee will take care of all things related to our monthly meetings.  This may include but is not limited to the physical location of the meeting, refreshments, and access.  This committee will also take care of any meat raffles that are to occur when the club is participating.

    • Establish a refreshment plan for the meetings
    • Scab’s Meat Raffle
    • American Legion Meat Raffle

 

Banquet Committee

The banquet committee will completely plan and run a banquet for the club

Fishing Committee

The fishing committee will take care of all things fishing which would include, but is not limited to fishing contests, learn to fish programs, and rod building.

Contest Committee

The contest committee will plan and take care of our annual Big Tom and Big Buck Contest, participating with our preferred vendor for contests, Churchill Market.

Fundraising Committee

The Fundraising Committee will head the Prescott Daze planning, the Flood Run Planning, and any other large scale fundraising efforts where a lot of members will need to be involved.

Prescott Daze Committee

This committee will plan, get resources, and insure that the sportsman’s club has due participation in the three day event in September.
